Bandaged fingers clenched her few belongings, many of which were depersonalized and replaceable. All of her clothes had been haphazardly tossed into an overflowing duffle bag, while school supplies and a very thick binder were struggling against the zipper on her backpack. A drool-stained pillow was tucked under her arm, it's covers a plain white. Alison's choice in fashion also did very little to help with a first impression, revealing nothing about her personality. The bestial halfling wore a loose white t-shirt she'd tucked into her skinny jeans—only slightly emphasizing her chubby belly—and two red converse sneakers.
Intense yellow eyes searched the hallway for the number of her new room, settling on one door to the next but finding no luck. Even in the early morning they were alert and dangerously bright, as though her very spirit threatened to break free and attack like a caged animal. They were the eyes her human mother had been terrified of, that her demon father had envied, and that sparring partners of all species were wary of.
In the two years she'd been at Styrewood, there'd never been a need for Ali to require a roommate. But a suspicious “training” incident that'd left her previous room in splinters left the school board no other choice but to have her share room 0902 until her old one would be repaired.
After giving her a neck a lazy scratch and flicking her inhibitor in annoyance, she finally came across the correct room.
-“This better be the place,” she mumbled, “Or else some unlucky twerp is gonna wake up at three AM for nothing.”-
Ali's first plan of business was to introduce herself, her second was to find a nice corner to crash in, and her third was to figure out how to remove that dumb inhibitor after a nice nap. It was a legitimate leather dog collar, loose enough that it dangled by her collarbone. A silver plate was tacked to the front, embossed with three claw marks encased in a circle. It'd been a symbol of strength for Ali's father and the copper skinned girl was proud to bear it.
In battle, her strong point was her uncanny strength. Even when wearing her inhibitor, she could get some of the strongest boys in her age group to cry for mercy. She liked to know she was the best, that she was the strongest, and that any day her father would send for her. But even so, she had quite a lot to learn, and that included academically. Basic education was still an area of Ali's life that needed some polishing and being held back a year didn't seem to be helping at all. If anything, it only depressed her she was stupid enough to fail both math and English. She spoke English, so what was that teacher's problem anyway? How could she fail a class based on the language she spoke? Ah well, school was for tools anyway.
Despite her lazy expression, Ali knocked hard enough for some of the wood to crack under her knuckles.
-“Yo. Anybody home?” she yawned, “The bench in the office is killing my back, so you get to meet your roommate early. Better hurry before I start waking up your neighbors."

"Thirty-eight, thirty-nine, forty." And on that count, Erina allowed herself to collapse onto the floor, not bothering to shield her face. By now, she was rather exhausted and had completely forgotten how many sets of put-ups she had done. Nevertheless, it was three AM and she needed to get some sleep. The plan was to miss her two first periods and maybe attend her third. The fourteen year old didn't usually skip, but there were some teachers that she quite simply couldn't stand; teachers that couldn't stand her attitude.
Letting out a faint sigh, her teal green eyes remained fixed on the wall across of her. Shadows were cast all over the small room, desk lamp being the only light source. Oh right...she still had that essay on violence to work on. See? That was what happened when she attended those early morning classes. At the moment, Erina couldn't quite remember how many words the teacher had requested, but it'd probably come back in the morning. "Hurr...sleep," she reminded herself, starting to stand up.
And with a plop, she dropped onto the bed, laying her head on a rather disfigured pillow. She considered everything temporary, hence the lack of personalization and effort made into the decor. Frankly, she couldn't care less as to whether the walls were black, blue, or pink. Well, pink was pushing it...
Shaggy red locks covered her face, hiding a small slightly up-turned nose, low cheekbones, and a delicate chin. Overall, Erina did indeed appear to be rather delicate--aside from the scars that were scattered across her light skin and the faint cuts that were cast upon her thin lips.
"What kind of threat is that?" she shouted back. She had only lied down, and frankly didn't feel like getting up. Couldn't the girl just break down the door? It hadn't been hard for Erina the first time... Sighing, she pushed herself up, bruised fingers roughly pushing back her hair. She stopped, staring at the cuffs that had just barely managed to miss her forehead. And so she opened the door.
"Who're you?" she grunted, glaring at the girl. Roommate? Erina hadn't been told...unless the information had been slipped in between the mess of words that had been thrown at her inside the office yesterday.

In response to the shout, Ali pretended to clean her ears out. -"So you are awake," she mumbled, “Not exactly what I expected. Thought they'd put me with someone a little more...you know, someone I can't break?”
Yellow eyes looked Erina up and down, sizing up her roommate like she would an opponent. The girl's delicate features didn't convince Ali to consider her much of a threat. In fact, there shouldn't be too much opposition over territory. Time to make her claims. Who knew that canine bestial blood could make someone so picky over territory!
Ignoring Erina's snappy attitude, Ali pushed her way into the room. -"Name's Ali. Don't wake me up before noon," she said. Belongings fell to the floor with a thud as she tossed them aside. She didn't even bother to wash up or anything of the sort and with a final yawn, stretched and leaped into Erina's bed. -”Check ya in the morning, roomie,” she mumbled.
Shutting her eyes, she scratched at her collar-necklace. The restraint made finding a suitable sleeping position more complicated than it should've been. But right now, Ali was too sleepy to really care if the restraint would leave red marks on her collar bone come morning.
-"One last thing," she grumbled, "If you know how to get a restraint off, let me know. Oh yeah. Forgot something important." Blinking in blearily, she pushed herself into a sitting position. -"What's your name again?"

Ah, luckily Erina was far too exhausted to respond to the girl. Actually, all she did was watch her, finding a comfortable position in the small doorframe. The girl--Ali--had marched right in, dropped her belongings, and lied down on her bed. Now, she wasn't necessarily a very possessive fourteen year old, but there was a limit to tolerance when there was only one bed. Did this girl think that Erina Layl would actually sleep on the food. Well, she'd done it before, but this was the time where she made it obvious that this was her room; her territory.
Just as well: someone she couldn't break? Now that she thought about it, this girl--Ali--really was pushing it. And who the heck stayed sleeping until noon? Weren't those a tad too many classes to miss? And why on earth would Erina even come to consider helping her remove her restraint? The relatively short girl was already having hard enough of a time trying to get rid of her own two controller--which was relatively difficult given that even her strength wasn't strong enough to shatter the metal.
And finally, she sat up and asked her her name. By now, Erina had quietly made her way next to the bed and was glaring rudely at the older girl. She smiled, "Erina, bitch." Her tone was calm and collected, even as she slammed the heavy cuffs against the other girl's back, plopped onto the bed and kicked her off. "You get to sleep on the floor, pup," she ordered, easily making herself comfortable.
From the girl's attitude, Erina knew that this wasn't how the night--or early morning--would end. But all the same, she hoped that Ali would quite simply let it slide since they were both relatively tired. All this territory shit could be dealt with the next day.

-“Maybe you'll be a worthwhile roommate after all,” said Ali, “And here I thought you were a big wuss—excuse me, a little wuss. Although, the name calling could use some work. I've already heard every ironic dog slander in the book. Still stings though, I'll give you credit for that.” Unfortunately for Ali, "pup" was her least favorite nickname. It made her think of someone small, someone weak, someone needy and stupid.
A burning feeling spread through her back and with a yelp, Ali knew she'd feel sore in the morning. Were that girl's restraints made out of metal or something? She'd managed to claim the bed for herself though, Ali could admire Erina for that much. Rubbing her back, the girl looked up at Erina. Ali's expression was on borderline respect, but Erina wasn't quite cutting it. Not yet at least.
To hide her growing respect, Ali donned her typical lazy expression. Ali stood by the edge of the bed and with a snap, she yanked the covers right from underneath her roommate. -“I'll just make myself comfortable,” she said.
-”Or we could share,” she said, “I'd have my side and you'd have yours, pewee.” It was hard to tell what exactly Erina's blood would be, so the only thing to pick on really...was the girl's smaller size. -“You don't look like you'd take up too much room.”
Settling on the edge of the bed, Ali bundled the covers in her lap and prepared to be kicked or pummeled off again. Perhaps picking on someone smaller than her--in more ways than one--wasn't such a smart move. Self consciously, she untucked her t-shirt as though to hide her chunky stomach. -“I was gonna share anyway,” she grumbled, “Before you kicked me off, jerkface. Don't have to be so selfish, you know. We're roomies now, after all. ”

Or they could share? Eh, Erina could be reasonable, but sometimes she quite simply felt like acting her age. She was still a kid, after all. Nevertheless, her "roommate" had pulled the covers from right under her, and she was in a position that made it all too easy for the short girl to kick her off. "You're still a stranger." Erina truly hadn't expected herself to say such a thing, but they were hardly roomies, and she had called her both pewee and jerk face. Sure, there was no denying that pewee was original, and somewhat amusing, but it was still an insult. Well, supposed to be one; Erina had been unable to hold back the giggle.
All the same--and as expected--the redhead kicked Ali off the edge of the bed, satisfied with her strength. What? She couldn't help but smirk. She was fully aware that the other girl wasn't putting up much of a fight--and hopefully wouldn't--but that was her problem, not Erina's. "The bed wouldn't be able to handle your weight as well as mine, anyhow." Well, the statement wasn't completely true and was hardly based on any solid facts. She just knew that her restraints were heavy and that the other girl was chubby… Was she? Erina really hadn't been paying much attention, but bonus points for her if she was, that was for sure.
Her eyes spent a second or two staring at the covers, but she quickly shook it off. She could live without them, easily. Nevertheless, Erina didn't settle into a comfortable position, not yet, anyhow. That was the second time that she'd pushed her new roommate, and everyone had a limit to their tolerance.

Even as she fell towards the floor, the corners of Ali's lips quirked into a smile. -"Stranger?" she asked, "That's the best you came up with?"-
Ali's smile dropped like a dead weight at Erina's next insult and she stood for a moment, her face flushing crimson and her brown eyes widening. She'd never been sure where such self consciousness came from, considering that when it came down to it, she was a very pretty girl. Perhaps it was past teasing or just part of growing up, but such insults always hurt her the same.
With a scowl, she hurled the bundle of covers in Erina's direction. -"Take your damn covers, asshole. I don't need 'em anyway." Scowling, she placed her foot on the edge of the mattress and shoved, trying to get it to fall. Not bothering to see if it'd worked, she marched over to the opposite wall and sat down with her arms crossed, face pulled into a look of determination.
-"Happy now? You got what you wanted," she said, "I was just trying to...Never mind."-
It would've been embarrassing to finish that sentence. What teenager admits they were just trying to play?

Ah... Well, it was three am; Erina's mind didn't function as good as it usually did. Um, and that was true, wasn't it? Ignorant Erina Layl had never seen Ali before, but that wasn't that surprising, really. Sometimes she quite simply slipped through the halls just to reach class or get back to her dorm. She was dismissed from sport, so might as well exercise as much as possible, right? Sadly, it hardly effected her appearance: she remained the small little pathetic little being she looked like no matter how much she tried. Ah well, she couldn't get everything she wanted, right?
Nevertheless, before she could even react, Ali had knocked off the mattress. Erina was impressed, though as a result, she was sent flying back and against the wall. No matter how heavy her restraints were, she was quite simply far too light. "Hn...so I got an insecure fatso for a roommate. Great," she grunted, too lazy to push herself up. Instead, she pulled herself onto the mattress and peered at the older halfling from behind the bed. She failed to comprehend why Ali had reacted in such a manner. Ah well, bonus points...right? All the same, she most certainly wasn't going to apologize. It was her fault that she was overweight... Well, Erina really couldn't tell at the moment, but she supposed that that was the case.
Sighing, she pulled herself up and stepped off the mattress. Crouching, she easily pulled it up over the bed structure and jumped over it to face her roommate once more. The restraints weren't too much of a bother, really. She'd doubtlessly find marks if she ever came to remove them, but she'd had them for quite some time now. "Trying to what?"
