The icy cold was refreshing. By now Haruka would have started to feel cold but she was moving around. Any longer sitting on the ice and she'd feel cold. At least there was something to do. And about the breaks; she definitely had to figure out something to do. Ice skating all the time wasn't going to be much fun - with or without others. Although she liked ice skating there was only so much she could do.
"I think," she added in regard to the thing about the school not letting people die. "It was like that in Japan," Haruka grinned as she remembered. Sometimes she would skip school and roam the streets, hiding and hoping that her father wouldn't find her out. At Styrewood it was impossible to escape school grounds; yes, she had tried before.
"Much later." Haruka nodded in agreement. Right now she couldn't be bothered since she was skating... without ice skates. It was fun in its own way but much harder to make risky moves. She had decided to discover that the hard way and was skidding on her back to a stop after a misjudgment. A few moments later she started laughing at herself - that was the one thing her father always called her out for - bad judgment.
Only then did she answer the question about what she played. She would have to ask V what the "love" part that he always added to the ends of sentences meant. "I play... everything. But I like soccer and baseball best," Haruka answered. Sometimes basketball as well but there were too many rules.

"Japan?" he smirked. Well, it wasn't too big of a surprise. Okay, maybe it was somewhat surprising. Lino definetely wasn't one to pay much attention to details. He hadn't even noticed her eye shape or overly straight hair; the only thing he had noticed was the fact that she was taller, and that was simply because he had to slightly tilt his head up to meet her eyes, as he did with most people.
He watched with amusement as she slid on her back, snickering. He finally fallowed after her, dashing at a speed that he doubted he could control. He twirled around her, struggling to come to a stop. He felt a slight pain as he leaned back, trying to brake. He wondered if he was making her dizzy; he knew he was. Of course, she'd have to be fallowing him with her eyes, which might be somewhat difficult. The circles continued to grow wider as his attempts to stop were failing.
Starting to head towards the opposite direction, he jumped, twirling around to face her once more; that would have wokrked just fine if not for the fact that he stepped on his laces.
He tripped forward the moment the converse hit the ice with a weak thud. He reached out, trying to brake his fall. He remembered the time that he'd broken his arm doing that; that was a couple of months ago, nothing serious though.
His hands met the glass with an even louder thud; a handstand. His arms shook, struggling to hold his weight, which wasn't much. Even then, he continued to slide, legs scrambling in the air a as he struggled to push himself back; he needed to stop, otherwise he'd fall over Haru, which didn't sound like too good of idea, despite the fact that she would probably move out of way, probably.
He fell forward, inches away from her. It was simply ironic, really. This was one of the few times that he'd actually managed to finish the stand instead of simply falling back. Though it was no where near perfect. He rubbed his hands against his jeans, the cold stinging. There were a few scratches, shallow cuts maybe.
He looked at her, holding back a smirk. "Hm...What's so good about soccer, love?" he managed to ask, blowing on his hands as he tried to heat them, or something. They felt numb.

"Japan?" Haruka nodded, "Japan," she confirmed. Well, that had taken him a while to figure out! Unless he thought she was Korean or Chinese or something. Well, her name definitely wasn't anything else but Japanese! She had heard both Korean and Chinese before but her name would never have passed off as those! But when she looked back, V was starting to run as well.
She simply watched from where she was, grinning in amusement. Haruka doubted he was in control of his slide right now; those shoes of his weren't helping either. Or he was just using the momentum to let him slide and slide and slide further around her- why was he getting further? In her amusement, Haruka didn't register getting dizzy until she looked away for a moment. Shoving the feeling away, she looked back at V, laughing the moment she saw his laces getting caught.
From then on, a rather amusing thing happened; he had managed to turn the fall into a handstand though it was quite obvious he wasn't strong enough to hold himself up. That made Haruka laugh even harder as she got up so she could actually see him the right way up, watching as he slid - that must be painful. But she couldn't help but just stay there and watch in amusement. She scooted away a little, clapping a little at the grand finale as he fell. "Good actor," she commented with a smirk, forcing back a giggle.
While there had been no visible blood on the ice, she could tell that V's hands were covered in superficial cuts. "I thought I was bad," she smirked, tucking her legs under her again. Needless to say that had been about the most amusing thing she had seen in a while. "That is also why you have to tie your shoelaces," she pointed out, indicating the still untied laces.
"Hm...What's so good about soccer, love?" Haruka tilted her head and shrugged, "I can play however I want," she decided in the end, scrutinizing his efforts dubiously. "and no one yells at me for being... 'violent'." In her mind, the way she played wasn't at all violent - not compared to fighting.

Looking away from his hands, he gave her an annoyed glare. "Fair enough," he mumbled, raising his hands to look at the cut; they weren't anything to complain about, really.
All the same, he couldn't do anything other than chuckle as he thought about what he had done; it probably was something rather amusing to watch, similar to clowns that made people laugh through harming one another. Self harm was different when it was accidental. If it was accidental, no one was going to blame you.
"I'll put the acting career into consideration, love," he smirked, placing his palms on the ice casually. He winced slightly. "And as far as shoelaces go, I intend to turn that much later into now, if it isn't too sudden," he added, finally getting into a more proper sitting position.
He looked at her doubtfully as she answered his question regarding soccer. He'd seen a couple of soccer matches, they could get pretty serious. He'd seen Haru play, and she was definitely rather violent. What he doubted was the yelling part, though. Oh well, some of those moves were actually legal, as surprising as it was.

Haruka only returned the glare with a large grin; she wasn't even bashful to be amused at his predicament. Some people tended to get hurt and Lino seemed to be one of those. "Something more to add to your collection?" She asked, gesturing to the other bruises around his body. Except now these cuts were bleeding. Wasn't like they were that bad though.
"Did you do that on purpose?" Haruka still hadn't forgotten their earlier conversation about pain. The handstand from before looked an unnecessary effort to her. It would have probably been less painful to fall. Then again, she had also learned how to soften falling since she had taken martial art classes before. She would have liked to continue but her father thought that it wasn't good for her to be beating up older and bigger people so he had made her quit.
"I'll put the acting career into consideration, love." Haruka shrugged, "a lot later," she added. Unless he took drama here. She herself had actually dropped out of drama so she really didn't know. She smirked at V's obvious displeasure at resting his bare skin on the ice; he could be of whatever demon blood but ice was still cold. "Good choice," Haruka complimented him as she moved closer. "But 'much later' should be 'much earlier'," she reprimanded lightly, quickly lacing up one shoe. The laces weren't exactly in the best state but they did the job.
"What?" She asked, looking up and tilting her head. V was looking at her strangely; was it wrong to like playing soccer? Or maybe he just didn't like the sport. But he fought a lot so he couldn't be condemning her being slightly more aggressive in sports than most people. Ok, she was one of the more violent ones despite being a senior, but that wasn't too much of a problem, was it?

He shrugged off her question, though nonetheless took a quick glance at the bruises covering his body. They really were quite a lot, now that he thought about it.
Though at first glaring, he looked at her thoughtfully. "Hm...I don't think so..." he replied, shrugging his shoulders once more. Had he done it on purpose? As far as he knew, that was pretty much the common reaction when it came to falling, but then again he didn't have to push it into a handstand; he could've quite simply fallen back as he always did.
Lino tilted his head slightly as he continued to think about it, indecisive. "Nyeh, I dunno," he declared, slightly leaning back, hands still against ice.
"Or never," he added. He wasn't the least bit interested in acting, or anything that came close.
He watched as she tied his laces, mumbling a low "Thank you,".
He remained silent for a moment, mind wondering off elsewhere. He finally turned to face her, stuttering a confused "What?". It took another moment of silence for him to recall what she had said.
"Oh, that!" he said, voice sounding more excited than it should have been as he managed to finally remember. He shrugged his shoulders, returning to his calm a self. "Well...Oh, yes, you're a little too violent when it comes to soccer, don't you think? You could actually hurt someone," he said, not exactly sure as whether or not he was serious.
"Soccer's soccer, fighting's fighting. If you intend to be that violent then you're better not playing soccer. I'm sure you've been told this before." he added, casually. He had put a thick line between sport and -street fights-, though wrestling probably went into both.

"Hm...I don't think so..." Haruka nodded, realizing that she felt relieved. Why she felt relieved was a different question altogether. Whether it was to make someone laugh or just put on a show it was still an odd thing. But she wasn't anyone to judge V. She herself was plenty abnormal, what with those violent tendencies of hers.
"Up to you," she replied. Acting wasn't something that everyone could do; it apparently needed a lot of work too. To imagine being people other than herself... that was also not very imaginable. With that she finished tying his other lace, "there," she said, satisfied with her work now. Haruka simply nodded in acknowledgement of the words of gratitude. That was another thing she wasn't good at; accepting gratitude.
"What?" Haruka just shrugged. Maybe he hadn't noticed then, if so it was alright. But a second later, he suddenly remembered, making her recoil a little at the sudden vigor. But she shook her head, "am I?" She asked, puzzled. She definitely hadn't noticed anything like that. She generally tried not to hurt people though. "I don't hurt people." But to that, she added a little 'I think' in her mind.
Sighing, she nodded. "I have," she confirmed. "I was worse," Haruka admitted as she stood up again with a grin. "But that was because I played with guys. But what other sport should I play?"

Lino was somewhat puzzled, unable to understand why she'd want to know his motives. They were strangers, acquaintances; why would she care? It didn't necessarily bother him, he was fine with answering questions; he couldn't recall the last time he lied or tried to avoid giving an answer. As long as it didn't have anything to do with someone else's secrets, he was fine with handing out the information, usually.
"I don't think it's that hard, you?" he asked, eyes lingering onto the laces for a couple of seconds.
Lino watched as she stood up, silently listening to her words. "Played with guys, eh?" he repeated, smirking as he stood up, slowly, trying not to slip. "You look like a guy and act like a guy. Aren't you better off just being one? I mean, if not for the skirt I might've assumed that," he added, smirk fading.
"I mean, babe, I really don't care about whether or not you're a guy, 'tis all the same, male or female," he said smugly, reaching out his arm as he swiftly pulled her to him, gripping her waist as her body came inches away from his. "We can do this now or much later, doesn't matter," he said, eyes meeting hers. His voice was low, meant for only her to hear, not that there was anyone else.
"But you're going to have to answer me now, love," he smiled, letting go of her for a moment as he reached into his pockets. "Cigarette or gum," he inquired, smiling widly as he displayed a cigarette in one hand and a stick of gum in the other. "At the moment I really don't have a preference, so take whichever you like," he added, stepping back, eyes wide as he waited for an answer.

"I don't think it's that hard, you?" Haruka tilted her head before shrugging. "Maybe," she allowed, "but I don't want to be anyone other than me," she decided firmly. It would just be a lie to be someone else and she probably couldn't pull it off anyways. Sports were about the only thing that she was good at - aside from fighting. But then, who ever counted fighting as something they were good at? No one really cared after all.
"Playing soccer with girls isn't fun," she muttered. They always complained about her being too rough and she often ended up leaving before long. Either way, Haruka did not last long with most girls and ended up leaving in impatience anyways. Hearing that she was like a guy was nothing new too. The idea of dressing like a guy seemed pretty fun too. A small smirk started growing on her face, maybe she could go borrow some of Nekonny's clothes. "They say that there are girls born in boys' bodies, I can be the opposite," Haruka suggested easily. "I can try dressing like a guy."
The one thing that definitely amused her was the fact that both her parents didn't like it when she dressed like a guy considering her mother was already quite lenient. She watched quietly as V stood up gingerly, as though he would slip at any moment. Considering the fact that he had done it once already, it probably was a good precaution. Haruka still smirked at him though, she was used to teasing people about being overly cautious.
She tilted her head as V's expression changed, tensing a little but not resisting as he pulled her close all of a sudden. She had been in these types of situations before; she knew how to take care of herself. The one difference was that right now it was cold and V had no shirt on. "All the same?" Haruka quoted, alert yet intrigued by the statement. "How are you sure?" As far as she was aware, there was a vast difference between male and female. She herself was still flat and her mother had blamed it on late maturing. Haruka didn't care.
"We can do this now or much later, doesn't matter." Haruka's eyes widened at the statement. She hadn't exactly expected a choice, but she knew what her answer would be anyways. Later, she thought, staring back into his eyes. Well, as long as he wasn't going to try anything it was fine to be this close... just as friends. If they were even friends.
"Later," she answered when prompted. "Just not now." She was quite unaware of the double meaning of her statement and basically consenting for another time. Haruka looked at the two items from V's pocket quizzically before bending a little to sniff the cigarette, wrinkling her nose in disgust. It definitely stank. "Do I have to?" She asked, eyes flicking back to V. How had he managed to get the cigarette into here anyways?

She didn't want to be anyone other than herself? That was good to know; so many people wanted to be something else, something better. Lino didn't necessarily have anything against them, but it was better being accompanied by someone who wasn't far into depression because he loathed who he was.
Hearing her mutter, Lino let a grin make its way to his lips. "Not necessarily," he commented."Some like it rough," he held back a chuckle a second after saying that, perceiving it in a different manner as he heard the words escape his lips.
"You definitely should, be your true self and all," he agreed with a nod, smirking slightly.
"All the same. Fuck'em from behind or the front, doesn't matter," he replied, bearing a luscious look.
Lino quietly pushed himself back, still wary. "Actually, I do have a preference, though since you obviously loath smoking, I'll postpone it," he said, pulling out a small box of cigarettes as he said that. "Nah, you don't have to. I just don't know what to do with the gum, that girl gave it me," he said, gently putting back the cigarette into the box. By that girl he had meant the one that had given him the bandage. He could've declined, but at the time he hadn't really given it much thought.
"Ye know Haru, I really expected you to at least resist a little. I mean, you should've. I was acting like one of my friends, and I doubt that he'd waste a second talking while being that close," he explained, looking up for a moment. He didn't why he did that, he just felt like it, really. Those two idiots were probably his closest friends. He also didn't know why he bothering her as far as resisting. This was the second time that he'd gone that close to her, and he hand't done anything in the first. He didn't expect her to resist, but more or less felt like being on the receiving end of a jab, or something like that; acting like his older friend was the easiest way given the situation.
"And then there's my other friend. He's younger than me by about two years, but all he does is smile and act like some cute anime character," he added, looking back at her. "So, no, I don't have split personalities," he smiled weakly. It was easy acting like the two of them, despite the fact that he hardly ever hang out with them. They told him that he was good at it, too. Lino simply thought of it as having mood swings, or even split personalities. It wasn't all that hard to switch from one mood or expression to the next, especially given the fact that he hardly ever had one aside from the constantly reemerging smirk.

Haruka eyed him as he declared that some girls (assuming he meant girls) liked it rough. She was no stranger to jibes like this, having heard them in the various times she paid attention in school. "Care to enlighten me? On or off the field?" She asked, eyebrows raised as she eyed, him, amused. V wasn't offering any explanation so it could be intentional... those words. At least she didn't bother him about preaching of 'being one's true self' and all.
Despite herself, she found herself smirking at his word choice again. "You are top. Always?" She asked, tilting her head, eyes glinting in amusement. Lino didn't really seem like that type, but looks were deceiving, as they had already ascertained. Despite being pretty careless herself, Haruka decided that being screwed over could wait until later. She didn't like taking contraceptives either. Actually, if she hadn't been forced to attend that one sex ed class, she would never have known that those existed.
"Actually, I do have a preference, though since you obviously loath smoking, I'll postpone it." Haruka tilted her head, noticing then that he had distanced himself. Well, guess he was afraid of her then. "Good choice," she couldn't help but stay. She would probably have confiscated the cigarettes or just gotten out of there in general. She looked from the gum to V and just shook her head, "you take the gum out of the packet, then you put it in your mouth and chew for however long you want. And then you spit it out when you don't want to chew anymore," Haruka told him, eyes glittering in amusement once more. It sounded exactly like he had never chewed gum before. "Thank you for offering," she added.
She laughed openly as V voiced the notion that she hadn't resisted. "I don't know your friend," she told him. "But you didn't make a move. If you did I would have thrown you down and maybe dislocated your arm," she grinned. "You're not the first one to try this," Haruka told him. "If your friend was here, he would probably have a smashed nose and a dislocated arm?" She wasn't sure whether to add extra bruising or not, but still, the intention was clear.
"Some cute anime character... I didn't watch anime," she told him. But she knew what he was talking about though. "Did you fuck him?" Haruka asked idly, eyes flicking to meet with his. Well, she should probably used 'them' instead of 'him' though. "Or are they just friends?"

"Nyeh, off the field mostly," he admitted, grinning. Well, at least she wasn't as clueless as he'd assumed.
Always,".
"It sounds...complicated," he mumbled, looking at the gum curiously. Yes, it would be the first time he'd ever used gum, and what he had said was hardly sarcastic. "Isn't it a waste of time, though? I mean..." Lino didn't know what he meant. Haru had made it sound as if she were mocking him. Well, not necessarily mocking, but she made it seem as if it were odd of him to have never chewed gum. He tilted his head to one side, examining her. He finally shrugged his shoulders. "It's also rude, isn't it?" he added, slipping the gum into his pocket once more. He simply nodded when she thanked him.
"Dislocated his arm? That's a bit harsh, eh?" he smirked. "My friend, Shadow, would be kind enough to not hit you back. He's just like that when it comes to girls," he started, knowing that he'd end up talking too much. He always talked too much when it came to those two.
"Shadow and Ace. You know how I first met them? I was walking by while Shadow was harassing Ace, hm, more or less about to rape him," he snickered at the memory. "They said that I looked like some ancient vampire; at the time my hair was pushed in front of my eyes, and I was, as always, under-dressed. Ace completely forgot about Shadow and decided to point it out. So both of them ended up being distracted by me," he said, eyes meeting the ice thoughtfully.
"So then we went from insane dares to helping out Ace. He wanted to learn how to fight, and Shadow helped him since he was actually trained and all. Eventually, Shadow wanted something in exchange. So, Ace and Shadow became...fuck budddies, or something like that... he explained.
"I actually let them cut my hair, once. They didn't do much, though. What they really did was tie my hair in two piggytails. I didn't feel like fixing it so I ended up running around like that for a week so, since they insisted. So, to answer your question, I haven't fucked either one of them. We're just friends," he concluded, looking up once more. He had to think it over to be sure. They did a lot of insane things, so it wouldn't necessarily surprise him if they had.
"Virgin?" he asked idly.

Haruka shook her head, "girls don't like getting hurt," she told V. On the field, of course. And apparently off the field too... although that was probably the matter about the heart. Was it a torn heart or something else... "ah, they call it a broken heart," she nodded. "Gum is simple," Haruka disagreed. "It helps to pass time. And piss teachers off."
She looked a little taken aback as V told her that a dislocated arm was harsh. "It's not harsh!" Haruka disagreed, crossing her arms, "It's not a broken bone. Broken bones are harsh," she corrected. Dislocated arms could be fixed easily. Well, easier compared to broken arms. "I fight all the time, I don't care if he hits me," Haruka answered truthfully.
Haruka tilted her head as V asked her if she knew how he met them before he went into a long explanation. Sounded like they were good friends... except V didn't look like a vampire. At all. "He's trained?" Haruka was suddenly a lot more interested. It would be nice to fight him and see what style he was trained in... oriental martial arts like herself?
Being someone's fuck buddy didn't sound fun though. Well, not to her. To others maybe. Just not her. "What's difficult about taking off pigtails?" Haruka asked, trying to imagine V with pigtails. His hair was long so it wasn't too difficult. And it was an intriguing thought; how would he look like as a girl?
"Virgin?" Haruka nodded simply. It was a simple and straightforward answer. She hadn't had anyone take away her virginity yet and actually couldn't care less.

"Why would you want to piss off your teachers?" he said, tilting his head to one side. He had considered making it a sarcastic remark, but changed his mind the moment the words were spoken. Lino probably pissed off a lot of his teachers, though that was quite simply by either being late or skipping, and they probably didn't mind his absence, much. The only time he really pissed off a teacher was when he attacked one, but that was because of the dare those two gave him. Really, chewing gum would probably annoy him; the repetitive action would probably be disturbing, as well as the noise.
Lino smirked; why was she getting so defensive? From his point of view, she really had problems which being told that she was a bit too rough, but who was he to judge, or care? "Sure, broken are harsh, but it's not like he did something that made him deserve it," he replied, unaware of how his tone matched hers. They were disagreeing, and apparently Lino was good enough of a friend to defend Shadow; that was certainly a new discovery.
"For some reason I don't think you're all talk," he said regarding her statement. She didn't care? That didn't change the fact that the blow wouldn't have been painful, and he didn't see why she wouldn't care about getting hit. Why was she acting all tough, anyway?
"Yeah, martial arts or something," he answered, the tip of his lips curving up as he noted her interest. Perhaps she was looking for a fight? Well, that wasn't going to happen unless she cross-dressed and challenged him. Otherwise, it would probably never happen. Never.
What's so difficult about taking off pigtails? Lino eyed her with a faint glare before answering with a shrug. "The act of pulling off the hair tie thingy and actually combing my hair back down; that's why I hardly ever tie it back anymore," he explained. If they didn't know him why else would they do such a thing?
Lino could feel a weak smile cross his lips as she answered. Her cheeks didn't burn a bright red nor had she stumbled with words; she wasn't embarrassed by it, which was a good thing, especially given the fact that would've teased her about it otherwise.
"Have you ever had a crush on someone?" he inquired; bringing up those two idiots made him actually curious, especially when he thought about the dares. Frida saw him while he was most vulnerable, and that was their fault. Lino, in love? That was to never happen; he'd have to believe in love for that to happen. They hypnotized him, doubtlessly. Definitely.

Haruka shrugged. Whether the teachers were pissed off or not wasn't her problem. "I don't know. They don't like me anyways so I don't care," she answered. The only class she actually paid attention in was sport science and there she wasn't particularly liked because of her 'unnecessarily' violent ways. "Some people still like pissing teachers off though," she added. Maybe they just didn't like the teachers then.
The avian halfling pouted sullenly as V smirked; a dislocated arm was nothing big compared to broken or crushed bones. Or ruptured organs. Haruka could think of a thousand things of how it wasn't so significant. It hurt, but only until the bone was relocated. "If he do something to deserve it I will dislocate it," she promised. "If not I won't."
"For some reason I don't think you're all talk." Haruka shrugged, "maybe," she replied. "I don't think I ever fought you," that could be a good thing and it could be a bad thing. She herself didn't know if it was or not and she didn't care so much. Haruka grinned, "I trained in martial arts," she told V. Now she wanted to fight Shadow to see how strong he was. And what style of martial arts he was trained in. Maybe she could even pressure him to teach it to her - that would be cool. Except she didn't know what he looked like.
Haruka grinned and shook her head, "it's not difficult," she told him. Other girls tended to do... lots more to their hair. "Then why do you keep your hair long?" She asked. If he couldn't be bothered to take care of it, why was it long? It took a lot more trouble than short hair did. For Haruka herself it was easier to keep short hair.
"Have you ever had a crush on someone?" Haruka shook her head. "No," she answered easily. "Why? You do?" So far no one had caught her interest yet. And even if they did, it would be hard for her to choose her priorities - that was just how she rolled.
