"Spain, huh," Jeanne nodded, she had never actually been there before but her father mentioned that it was a very sunny and warm place - like Australia - except people spoke Spanish. "So you speak Spanish then?" That was her natural assumption.
"What's wrong with having cool eyes?" Jeanne asked, having caught the disdainful tone to Kellin's voice. "I think it's cool. You've to think yourself unique," she lectured, missing the point almost completely. Jeanne was also particular about body image, what with being someone who was used to wearing next to nothing.
Giggling softly, Jeanne shook her head, dropping the matter of Ace's sexuality. "Ignore me," she told them. Talking with people actually helped to take her mind off being cold - that was useful to know. But even so, she wasn't sure if she was ready to chance going outside. "The cold's already seeped through me," Jeanne offered. No, she didn't want to move at all. "If you're lonely, you can take Ace with you?" She quipped.
"Unless you would like another way to keep warm." Jeanne stiffened a little, she knew exactly what he was talking about, actually, and knew that it did actually offer heat - a lot of heat - but it also meant moving. Tipping over a little to nudge Kellin, she shook her head, "underage minors here, dear," she reprimanded with a smile. "Creative thinking though," she congratulated. It was besides the point… so what?

Kellin felt Ace's glare, he didn't even have to look at him. He knew he was going to get himself into trouble and the only way to get out is through an apology. "Hmm, Ace. I'm sorry about that joke. I was not insulting your hair, just wanted to clear that up."
He then turned to Jeanne and just grinned at her opinion on his eyes, at least they saw it in a positive way. She reminded him he wasn't among his age group. "Tsk, tsk, I wasn't talking about anything vulgar, doll." He winked and chuckled again.
"So, what now? Since we're all frozen here and cannot move an inch?" Kellin rubbed his hands together. Friction, his hands were the easiest parts to warm up. 'A hug would do us all good, but that'd be too awkward.' He was starting to space out and so he decided to start another conversation, something personal. "These eyes...they're not just some common feature of my kind..."

Ace shook his head; he certainly didn't speak Spanish; he certainly didn't know anything about Spain, really. Truth be told, his grasp on English wasn't that well, either, but he'd managed.
All the same, he shrugged off Kellin's apology with a sigh as he watched them, resisting the urge to sigh some more with every word they spoke. He was also resisting the urge to laugh; underage minors, yeah. He'd hoped that what she had said was a mere excuse to be polite, and whilst he wasn't about to tell them to not mind him, a grin had managed to cross his thin lips. He wondered as to how they'd act if they knew about Shadow and him. Actually, Ace had never announced it himself, given how easily embarrassed he could be, though Shadow had taken the liberty of behaving possessive every now and then, especially when Ace bothered to question his actions.
Letting out a final sigh, he shifted his attention to the two once more, twisting a couple of strands around his finger as he listened to Kellin. "Oh, is that so? Then what are they?"

When Ace shook his head, Jeanne raised her eyebrows but said nothing. Maybe his parents had thought that it wasn't necessary for him to learn Spanish, teaching him English instead? She didn't know, there were tons of reasons. She had been taught both French and English as French was her father's native tongue. Her parents had thought that being bilingual was important so she had learned that without complaint.
"Tsk, tsk, I wasn't talking about anything vulgar, doll." Jeanne rolled her eyes and grinned at him, "oh? Must be me missing the summer, then," she told him, laughing. She might not have been of age but she certainly wasn't naive. Well, that naive.
She shrugged, having no idea what to do besides huddle and freeze. She was much too cold to move right now so if they really wanted her to move they'd literally have to carry her out. Jeanne felt akin to a block of ice. In fact, she was surprised that she could actually talk. Pretending to be an ice block? Yeah, she could pretend she was doing that.

Kellin glared back at Ace. He didn't mean to but it was hard to rekindle the pain he had been trying to succumb all his life. "They were passed on to me by my mother...along with her life... He paused, taking heavy breaths. He watched the air going out his nostrils as he exhaled.
He exhaled through his mouth as if he was puffing a cigarette. If he had one he'd love to be smoking it right now. He closed his eyes, forehead wrinkled as he thought about the other two, they probably didn't smoke.
"Anywaaay... enough of the blues.. I was wondering what exactly you missed over the summer, since we're getting a little personal here." He smirked as he changed the topic. He had to think about something else before he would get into a fit or lull himself into depression. No one has ever seen him like that before, not even his hometown friends, only his father. He has to man up or his reputation will precede him, Kellin doesn't get worked up in his emotions, he's too tough and too numb for that stuff.

Ace could feel his heart sink, and with that, he lowered his gaze, teal eyes now focused on his twiddling thumbs. He had no right to feel unfortunate just because he was given affection by his mother. Nu-uh. At least he had his; well, sure, she didn't come to see him, but she did more-or-less care for him. But Kellin's mother was gone, and Ace had brought up the subject with such a terrible tone. All the same, he didn't dare mutter an apology or meet his crimson red eyes once more.
And what brought him back were the small, faint puffs of air that exited the older boy's mouth, reminding of Lino when he smoked. What would he have done if he were to bring up such a terrible subject? He'd probably be oblivious to the whole thing, truth be told.
So he looked up once more, eying the taller male. Was the question even directed at the two of them, or was it merely to Jeanne? Ace wouldn't have been surprised; Kellin had shot him a glare and he still felt terrible about what he had said--and how he had said it. All the same, he had more-or-less skimmed through the summer, and it wasn't as if he had done anything all too differently from what he did during the school year. Perhaps the question wasn't for him. Or maybe he just wasn't thinking hard enough.
And so, he quite simply crossed his legs, resting his elbows on his knees and allowing his hands to slightly tug at his hair as he stopped himself from rocking back and forth. It was pretty much a habit--as well as puffing his cheeks and twirling strands of hair around his finger. They were all more-or-less signs of either boredom or faint interest, and at the moment, he was interested in hearing Jeanne's response, though she appeared to be so cold that he wasn't even sure if she could. Poor thing.

"They were passed on to me by my mother...along with her life..." Jeanne snapped out of her cold-induced shock for a moment to stare at Kellin for a moment, watching as he breathed like he had just run a marathon. "Aw, poor baby," she said, reaching over and hugging him. Well, more like falling over and clinging to him. Why? Because he was a source of heat. Heat was good in this environment. Well, wherever it came from it was good. She hoped Ace wouldn't mind - it wasn't like she was hitting on Kellin or anything.
"Anywaaay... enough of the blues.. I was wondering what exactly you missed over the summer, since we're getting a little personal here." The reptilian halfling closed her eyes and as though she was transported there, a dreamy smile crossed her features. "Mm... everything" she said, "sun, heat, warmth, sand, sea, waves, swimming, surfing, hot dudes, hot babes, bikinis, sex on the beach..." unbeknownst to even herself, Jeanne was just rambling on and on, the topics getting more and more inappropriate as she listed off what she missed about the summer.
It was obvious that Jeanne really wished to be back in the sun - especially since it was summer in Australia. Everyone was probably on holiday so there'd be a lot of people on the beach. And that meant that there would be a lot of people to hook up with and-! This really wasn't helping her do much other than drool and pretend that she was back there. Well, she wasn't drooling yet.

A streak of red brushed on Kellin's cheeks. He wished no one noticed. He could always use the cold as an excuse for him blushing. The gesture probably meant nothing but he can't help think of pulling her close. Probably because he was starting to get cold too. "Must be the cold..." He said as he voiced out his thoughts unconscious of what he just did.
To lessen the awkwardness of the situation he grabbed Ace and pulled him into a group hug. "What about you Ace? How was your summer?"
He whispered to Jeanne with a smirk on his lips. "Sex on the beach, huh?" Then quickly turned back to Ace awaiting his answer.

Ace smirked, eying Kellin's cheeks. Scarlet red, a beautiful color, though it didn't quite match the older--and taller--boy's skin tone. And then he was pulled into the hug. Ew, group hugs. Now, as friendly and happy as Ace might've been, there were just somethings that weren't normal. Somethings that crossed the lines. Lino and Shadow never did group hugs. Ace and Shadow never hugged. As important as physical contact was, hugs were quite simply too emotional.
"Nh...off," he muttered, quickly pulling away from the group. He didn't want to seem rude, but everyone had their pet peeves, right? Hugging just happened to be one of them. "Summer..." There, he needed to give them an actual answer. Sure, he spent some time with his father, but that wasn't the highlight. Ace didn't miss his father, and he most certainly didn't miss the sun. Something important had happened, but he couldn't quite remember just what.
"Oh, I miss how Shadow and I could just hang out at the dormroom...how we spent the day by the pool..." Yes, Ace could go on forever, because once he managed to finally recall what had happened, the events appeared to be endless. "Having Lino around was also fun," he finally concluded. Summer was great. The other two spent all of their time at Styrewood, but Ace had just managed to force his father to let him stay longer. He could hardly ever find them now...
And then he finally blushed, acknowledging what he had said. Did he say anything about sex? He wasn't sure. Nah, he probably didn't. Convincing himself of this, he relaxed, now eying the two.
